Sometimes we read something or hear something that just has an immense impact on us. It is something that has “sticky power” and not only stays with us, but is somehow responsible for changing us… Changing the way we think or feel about a certain idea or topic. I had just that kind of experience a few weeks ago.
I attended the ILA Conference in Denver and was inspired by so many of the people that I met there. One of the people that I was blessed to hear speak was Brene Brown. She was genuine and meaningful and spoke of her journey of researching the topic of vulnerability. I thought I would take a few minutes to share a piece of those moments with you.
This excerpt of her study about vulnerability is about 20 minutes long so you may want to grab a cup of coffee or tea and sit back and be ready to laugh and introspect into your own life and consider what being “vulnerable” means to you.
Is there a moment in your life when you have sat back and reflected on who you are and more importantly- who you want to become? This may be one of those moments.
MOMENT OF REFLECTION
What does it mean to be vulnerable? What does vulnerability have to do with being a leader?
